As the second largest port in the UK, the Port of Liverpool spans an impressive 7.5-mile enclosed dock system, stretching along the River Mersey from Brunswick Dock to Seaforth Dock. Handling over 70 million tonnes of cargo annually and accounting for approximately 14% of the UK’s total market share, the port plays a critical role in the nation’s trade and logistics infrastructure.
Given this scale and impact and the fact that our startups specialise in solving key industry challenges we saw this visit as a valuable opportunity to connect innovation directly with operations.
Startups in attendance:
· Neuwave Technologies

The visit began with a presentation covering the port’s history, recent technological advancements, and major infrastructure developments.
Following this, the ZEBOX Club members were taken on a guided tour of Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, with exclusive access to the control room, offering first-hand insight into daily operations and logistics management.
The session provided our startups with a clear understanding of the port’s current priorities, operational challenges, and long-term objectives creating strong foundations for potential collaboration and future innovation partnerships
