This week a handful of ZEBOX UK startups joined us on a 2-hour site visit to the Jaguar Land Rover owned, CEVA operated Warehouse in Solihull. The CEVA team began operating the 98,578 square metre warehouses in 2024 and play a key role in distributing vehicles to more than 160 countries, with US being the largest buyer. The warehouse production turn over 150,000 vehicles per year which equates to one car every 40 vehicles per hour.
Given our focus on the logistics space and the opportunity this presents for our club members, we thought a site visit would give a value learning insight and chance for new conversations.
The startups in attendance:
- Optrak
- Ensemble Analytics
- Floxmind
- Gobano Robotics
- Okular
- Ant Machines
The visit consisted of a two hour walk through of the site covering: Inbound Operations, Storage Marketplaces and ASRS, Vehicle Assembly Lines and Linefeed Operations. The club members were split into the relevant groups and given a specialist lead. Giving the club members a clear understanding of how operations work, what challenges they face and how they would like to progress.
Following on, we had all startups deliver short pitches to the CEVA and JLR team on how their solution work, what projects they’ve delivered before and the success they’ve achieved. With the aim of showing the two teams how innovation could be implemented to effectively drive success within the warehouse.
If you are part of a startup that would benefit from corporate introductions and would like to attend visits specific to maritime and logistics, you can find the application to the Zebox Club here.
