Operating in the center of the U.S. East Coast, The Port of Virginia exclusively owns and operates its terminals and the nation’s leading and youngest chassis pool, contributing to the efficiency of the most modern and technologically advanced container terminal operations. Currently underway, the $1.4 billion Gateway Investment Program is building greater port efficiency through semi-automation, expansion, and sustainability alternatives. Virginia’s Integrated Freight Strategy empowers port efficiency with $356 million in dredging the deepest, 55 foot, channels, and major transportation investments supporting fluidity of port-related freight.
